Shopboard is live, and we're looking for founding shops
We shipped Shopboard, a job tracker for small machine shops. Now we're looking for a few shops to run it for real, in exchange for founding-shop pricing and a direct line to the people who build it.
Using agentic coding to speed delivery, we just shipped Shopboard, a job tracker built for small machine shops. Operators tap Start and Done on a floor tablet, and the office gets a live board, a digital traveler for every job, and reports that answer the two questions a shop owner asks all day: what's late, and what did that job actually cost us?
If you have ever walked the floor looking for job 4471, that is the problem Shopboard removes. The paper traveler, the whiteboard, the Friday-afternoon guess at actual hours: it replaces all of that with something a machinist can learn in one shift and an owner can read from a chair in the office. It runs as a single program on one small computer in the shop, keeps working when the internet drops, and holds each entry on the device until it can deliver it. The part that matters today
Shopboard is shipped and working. It is also new, and the fastest way to make a shop-floor tool good is to run it in a real shop, on real jobs, with the machinists who never asked for software. So we are looking for a small number of shops to be our first customers.
We do not want a pilot that sits in a corner and gets a polite thumbs-up. We want shops that will put Shopboard on the floor, use it for live work, and tell us what is wrong: what confused an operator on day one, what report they wanted and could not find, what step of their routing does not fit our model. That kind of feedback is worth more to us right now than the license fee.
What a founding shop gets
- Founding-shop pricing. A discount on the fixed price, in exchange for using it for real and telling us the truth about it.
- A direct line to the people who build it. When you report something, you are talking to the engineer who can fix it, not a ticket queue in another time zone.
- Real say in what comes next. The features founding shops ask for are the features we build first. You are shaping the tool while it is still soft enough to shape. We are deliberately keeping this group small, because we want to give each shop real attention while we learn from it.
