About
I started Boro Software in 2026 on a simple idea: pairing agentic coding with a senior engineer's judgment means the tools that used to belong only to the largest engineering organizations can go to work for everyone else too, without wasting a single hour rebuilding what already works. That's the whole premise. Keep what's sound, mend what's worn, replace only what actually has to go.
Credentials
I've spent 25+ years shipping production systems: rocket-engine telemetry at Blue Origin, energy optimization platforms at Optimum Energy, SBIR contract delivery (Terasense/MODEX), security tooling at Phylum, and an RFID product suite that produced two issued patents.
These days I run agent-augmented development squads: teams of AI agents directed by daily ticket triage, with one agent acting as virtual PM. They deliver documentation, test suites, and features at 80–90% time savings over conventional baselines. I've refined this methodology across multiple production roles; it's practice, not theory.
Boro
Boro is the Japanese textile tradition of mending cloth instead of discarding it: patch layered over patch, reinforced with sashiko running stitches, until a worn piece of fabric outlasts anything woven new. The idea behind it is mottainai: a sense that something useful, once made, is too valuable to throw away.
I named the company after that practice because it's how I think engineering should work. Legacy systems, half-documented internal tools, code nobody wants to touch: most of it doesn't need to be ripped out and rewritten. It needs someone willing to take stock of what's actually there, adapt it to how the work gets done today, patch the seams that have worn thin, and carry the rest forward. That's the discipline an agent squad is good at when someone senior is directing it, and it's the discipline Boro is built around.
Boro Software LLC
Boro Software LLC is based in Everett, Washington, founded in 2026. The engineers directing every engagement are US-based (never offshore), so you always know who's accountable for the work and can talk to them directly.
